Evan Tom Band

Evan Tom Band .....
And a brand new CD on sale now !!!

Evan Tom was five years old when he was introduced to Hawaiian music while his older sister studied hula. At age eight, he took his first trip to Oahu to visit his great-grandfather, aunties, uncles, and cousins. It was during this vacation that his love for Hawaiian music started to grow. Returning home to the mainland, he begged his parents to buy him an `ukulele. A few months later he rapidly progressed through his strumming and picking lessons.

After becoming proficient at the `ukulele, Evan soon taught himself how to play the guitar and bass. By ten he was arranging music. Enamored with that old-time Hawaiian sound, he eagerly studied Hawaiian lap steel guitar at thirteen. Gifted with perfect pitch and an intuitive ability to improvise, Evan dazzles audiences by rarely playing the same song quite the same way.

In 2007 Evan formed the “Evan Tom Band” with his uncle Marc Sato on guitar and friend Uncle Joe Ho on `ukulele.  Together they play traditional and contemporary Hawaiian, jazz improvisation, and Latin music.   They have appeared at the Northern California `Ukulele Festival, Bay Area L&L Hawaiian BBQ Restaurants, the Temple Bar Tiki Restaurant Aloha Sundays, and private parties.

The Evan Tom Band just released a CD entitled, "38 Strings" that will be available for purchase.  Cash only please.
