 8:00 – 9:30 pm

Performance with James Hill and Keoki Kahumoku

Multi Grammy award winner Keoki Kahumoku and famed international ‘ukulele recording artist James Hill share their love of music in what is said to be a show full of unbelievable artistry, soothing melodies, and romantic fables.  Ki ho’alu, the historic cultural tradition of storytelling through slack key guitar compositions, is Keoki Kahumoku’s life’s mission as he spends most of his time learning and sharing the songs of his ancestors.  James Hill is a product of having mandatory ‘ukulele grade-school instruction in his hometown of Langley, British Columbia.  James has shown the world that the ‘ukulele, a small 4-stringed acoustic instrument, is not for the weak and timid. Innovative, precise technique, an unexpected lick and a story behind each self-composed or arranged tune, James astonishes audiences young and old, around the world.

Share in a captivating evening of Hawaii’s history and culture, time-less family stories and how Hawaii’s instrument and tunings have spanned horizons into the modern world of Jazz, Bluegrass, and Funk.
